My Approach
I approach each person I work with as a unique and complex individual. I take time to build relationship with each of my clients at their own pace as relationship is at the foundation of our work together. I have an eclectic approach that can include parts work, attachment, shamanic practices, mindfulness, shadow work, and skill building. I also approach therapy from a transpersonal and humanistic lens, utilizing many different approaches to healing. I am very strength based and focus on working with each individual holistically. I believe and practice that I am not the expert on you, I am supporting your journey of uncovering your own truth and trust in yourself. I believe that most of the time symptoms we are experiencing like anxiety or depression, are brilliant ways we have built to protect ourselves in some way, that at some point have stopped working for us. I work to help honor these protectors and release them when they no longer serve us. I love to incorporate humor as well as hold creating a warm and inviting space as a high priority.
A noble counseling
Roots of the word “noble” trace back to the latin word “gnoscere” meaning “to come to know.” We will discover together “coming to know” and work to integrate all of those pieces together. Knowing can be through our mind, hearts, bodies, and souls which have many different levels. We will work together on how to know yourself, unlocking that wisdom within.
MY EXPERIENCE
I graduated from Naropa University with a Masters in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology in 2012. I have a decade of experience working with teens, young adults, and adults as a mentor, therapist, and parent coach. I started my journey working in mental health working in a transitional living home as a mentor for young adults. I then transitioned to running the program and my days were filled with everything from budgeting, to supervising, coffee check ins with clients, and case consultation. In my role I worked with families, parents, teens, and young adults all seeking support within the treatment world. My path led to to more clinically based work where I am able to be more 1:1 with clients and groups.
Since 2018, I have focused my work as a therapist and mentor, providing support to individuals and families in the Boulder area, as well as virtually across the country. I have also deepened my own spiritual understanding as a Shamanic practitioner through personal work and trainings. I weave these practices into my day to day life, as well as in my work with individuals who are interested. I have completed a 3 year long Shamanic practitioner training with Jennifer Hinton where I have learned how to integrate shamanic work into my clinical practice.
